I have placed this piece in the Veterans and Military section due to recent events across the country that MUST be made public and MUST not happen again.
If you organize any events for disabled soldiers, "Wounded Warriors", Warfighter Sports, or heck for any persons with disabilities I demand you first read the Americans With Disabilities Act.
You as a Coordinator, Director, or Host are responsible for the well being of those you invite to your sports programs, dinners, parties, or any other event honoring warriors, etc..

The Suicide Prevention campaign of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is expanding its outreach to all Veterans by piloting an online, one-to-one "chat service" for Veterans who prefer reaching out for assistance using the Internet.
Called "Veterans Chat," the new service enables Veterans, their families and friends to go online where they can anonymously chat with a trained VA counselor.

No matter where you hang your headgear or unlace your boots and sit down to eat (I hope you get to sit) Thursday I wish you all a very happy Thanksgiving Day! Whether you are serving over seas eating an MRE or the lucky ones who get that huge garrison type feast. If you are lucky enough to be home, i hope you are able to spend it with family and/or friends. May you enjoy an old tradition or create a new one, have to call home from far away, or wave through the computer, know that someone back home in the USA is thinking about you.
For those who are lucky enough to spend this upcoming holiday at home enjoy it. Do not take anything for granted, be grateful. Be thankful. Besides I hear after you stuff your face you can shop till you drop and work off all those calories! Make sure you check out the AAFES facebook page, or online, or your local PX,BX, NEX for additional Black Friday Deals.
For those with out access to base, know that many stores offer Military Discount and all you need is any kind of DOD ID. Active, Reserve, Retired, Dependent means Discounts! some stores I know participate at New York & Co, Military Mondays at Old Navy, which by the way this Monday they also have Cyber Monday specials, Lowes and Home Depot offer 10% years round to Active, Retired, or those with a VA Service Connected ID card. For Computer, Mac and Dell offer Government Employee discounts and yes that includes Military. A great place to search for Military Discounts is Military.com and your service online site.
